Scroggs PTA holds a membership drive every fall to cover school programming, events, and supplies. PTA fundraising is an essential part of making Scroggs an amazing community for teaching and learning. Anyone can be a member of our PTA. If you choose to donate when you join or renew your membership, the first $10 of your donation will contribute toward each member’s national and state PTA annual dues.

This year (2023-2024) your membership donation is more important than ever to support Scroggs. Our goal every year is to raise $100 per child as this covers most of the anticipated cost of student programming, teacher essentials and other school necessities which we traditionally have helped cover every year. However, any amount of membership donation is appreciated.

Remember, you need to renew your PTA membership every year and we thank you for taking time to do that.

Where does my donation go when I contribute to the PTA?

The Scroggs PTA strives to raise $100 per child to fund vital components of your child's education experience.  In recent years we have raised an average of $30-40K total per year.  The fall membership drive usually raises an average of $15K per year. Your donations go directly toward activities, including in past years a typical annual contribution of:

  • Grade-level initiatives (live or virtual visiting authors, virtual or live field trips, supplemental materials, supplementing school budget)

  • $200 per teacher for classroom supplies, materials and books, etc.

  • Funding new library books and media supplies

  • Supplement budgets for "specials" (art, P.E. music, Spanish)

  • Special live or virtual assemblies

  • Teacher appreciation events

  • Help fund the nurses station every year

  • Special requests for materials or supplies as needed

    • In the height of the pandamic, the PTA provided additional Covid safety supplies (a breakaway mask lanyard for every child and staff member, extra contactless thermometers, extra PPE, etc)

    • Purchased and installed four 10 x 20’ tents around campus for increased outdoor meal space

    • Dedicated $8K for a 20’ x 50’ carport to increase the shade and rain protection for our students to allow for more weather proof outdoor meal and learning space during Covid which was installed August 16, 2021 (in time for the start of the 2021-2022 school year).

    • Supplied materials for PTA volunteers to create and install outdoor sinks, tables, stools and more.
